Introduction
Exploring the biological property of banana peels and designing an interactive lamp for emotional support.
Proposal
This is an interactive light made of banana peel biomaterial. We chose banana peel as our material. We wanted to explore its biological properties and repurpose it as a biomaterial. We found that banana peel is conductive, so we made an interactive light with Arduino. It is a living light that starts flashing as soon as a person touches it, just like breathing.
Bananas are one of the most popular fruits in the world. More than 100 billion bananas are eaten each year and a large number of banana peels are thrown away. What can we do with these discarded banana peels?
Material exploration
The traditional method is to break up the biological waste and then cooking it with gelatin and gel to form into certain shapes according to the modes, but the method is straightfoward without any thinking related to the biological properties. Bio-nana is a series of explorations, experiments and application based on the existing knowledge and methods of bioplastics, using banana peel as the main material.

We often get two curved and straight peels if we quarter the banana.

Process
Glycerin and gelatin have the best effect.

Material Samples
The final one is an interactive lamp made of banana peel biomaterial. Through research, we found that banana peels have certain conductivity, so we programmed a mode of interaction and made an interaction lamp. It is a living lamp, it begins to flash when people contact the lamp, just like breathing.
